Global rankings and internationalisation project

 

Marie Lall is currently undertaking research on the internationalisation of Japanese universities (with Licia Proserpio and Camille Kandiko Howson)

Appointments at Japanese universities

Marie Lall has been engaging with universities in Japan since 2008. Her first appointment as visiting professor was in 2013 at Keio University in Tokyo.

  • 04/2023-03/2025: Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Law, Keio University, Tokyo. Lectures on contemporary issues, government and politics in India, Pakistan and Myanmar. Co-teaching graduate seminar on Violence in Southeast Asia with Prof Nobuto Yamamoto

  • 04/2023-03/2024: Research Fellow at the Center for Sustainable Development Studies, Toyo University, Tokyo. Research on the situation of post-coup Myanmar students on the Thai-Myanmar border.

  • 12/2021-05/2022: Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Global and Regional Studies, Toyo  University, Tokyo. Lectures (for the MA and BA programmes) on rural development in India, Pakistan and Myanmar.
